The Essence of
Religion:

The essence of religion is to put Allah first in all our affairs. In fact, we are His servants and He is our Master and we have no business with anyone else. Not only one, but also millions of children may die without causing us pain if we are pleased with Him and accept His decrees cheerfully. And even if our children are alive, they may very well become a source of trial for us if Allah does not prevent it through His grace. Many people are thrown into jail because of their children. Shaikh Sa’di has narrated a story of a person who was put into chains because of the wickedness of his children.
We should consider our children as guests. We should give them comfort and encouragement and try to make them happy as much as possible, but we must never put anyone above Allah, Most High. What power do children have? We must never forget that seeking the pleasure of Allah is our goal of life.
