from our Suriname Branch -- Mr. A.S. Abdul Santoe reports: Rotterdam, 4th
October 1999. It is with great grief that I must inform you of a tragic car accident on the 30th of September, whereby two sisters from our Suriname Ahmadi community lost their lives. Mrs. Hajja Idan Alibux-Dinmohamed (69) and her daughter-in-law Mrs. Merlyn Alibux (28) have both passed away instantly after the car crash en route from the Capital city of Paramaribo to Nickerie in the western part of Suriname. Hajja Alibux was the widow of Haji Abdul Islam Alibux who passed away in 1986. He was a well-known merchant/trader in Suriname and played a pivotal role in the Building Committee of the main Mosque in Paramaribo. Haji Alibux in his life also laid the foundations for two Mosques in Nickerie. Mr. Mintou Alibux, son of the deceased is an active and sincere member of the Holland Ahmadiyya community, up to a few months ago Secretary of The Hague Ahmadi jamaat and for some time also General Secretary of the Netherlands Ahmadiyya Federation. Brother Mintou has assisted Imam Saeed Chaudhry vigorously on the occasion of the info sessions held in the past month in Berlin - Germany. May ALLAH SWT grant the departed souls everlasting peace in HIS heavenly abode and the bereft family sabar (peace) and strength to overcome this tragic loss. Members everywhere are requested to pray for the deceased. INNA LILLAHE WA INNA ILAIHI RAAJIUUN.
